Here is a piece of poetry from Iranian great poet of around seven centuries ago, Mohammad Hafez Shirazi, translated by an Iranian professor Dr. Abbas Horri

Dr. Abbas Horri is the founder of National Institute of English Language (NIEL) in Iran which has been working actively for more than fifty years. He had translated this piece of poem while he was young studying in U.S

بار غمی که خاطر ما خسته کرده بود * عیسی دمی خدا بفرستاد و برگرفت

The burden of grief tormenting my soul

A God sent Messiah lifted whole

زهرایی ام فرزند خورشید خدیجم*دریایی ام ازنسل باران وبسیجم

I am the follower of [Lady] Zahra, child of sun of [Lady] Khadij

My heart is as vast as the seas generated from rain and Basij

ایرانی ام سلمان صفت همرزم مالک*تو تا همیشه فارس می مانی خلیجم

I am an Iranian like Salman Farsi, a combatant of Malik

*And You will always [and forever] remain Persian Gulf my Khalij

Congratulations on the 10th of second solar calendar of Persian Year, April 28th, which is named National Persian Gulf Day

Khalij means gulf in Farsi and Arabic*

وی در همه‌ ابعاد گوناگون زن بودن، نمونه شده بود:

مظهر یک دختر در برابر پدرش.مظهر یک همسر در برابر شویش. مظهر یک مادر در برابر فرزندانش.

مظهر یک زن مبارز و مسئول در برابر زمانش و سرنوشت جامعه‌ اش.

وی خود یک امام است،  یعنی یک نمونه مثالی، یک تیپ ایده‌آل برای زن، یک اسوه، یک شاهد برای هر زنی که می‌خواهد شدن خویش را خود انتخاب کند.

نمی‌دانم چه بگویم؟ بسیار گفتم و بسیار ناگفته ماند.

خواستم بگویم، فاطمه دختر خدیجهٔ بزرگ است، دیدم فاطمه نیست.
خواستم بگویم، که فاطمه دختر محمد است. دیدم که فاطمه نیست.
خواستم بگویم، که فاطمه همسر علی است. دیدم که فاطمه نیست.
خواستم بگویم، که فاطمه مادر حسین است. دیدم که فاطمه نیست.
خواستم بگویم، که فاطمه مادر زینب است. باز دیدم که فاطمه نیست.
نه، این‌ها همه هست و این همه فاطمه نیست.

"The 20th of Farvardeen, the first month of the Iranian solar year,  the April 8th, has been titled as the National Day of Nuclear Technology in Islamic Iran to celebrate Islamic Republic of Iran’s access to peaceful nuclear technology on such day" reported IRIB
"Six years ago, on such a day, the news of Iran’s access to the uranium enrichment technology and launch of a complete chain of enrichment in Natanz nuclear site was announced by the Iranian and global media concurrent with the completion of the nuclear fuel cycle. Therefore, this day was entitled as the National Day of Nuclear Technology so that the Iranians celebrate the anniversary and remember such an invaluable success for ever. The Iranian youths, as a result of their hard efforts, set the stage for fulfilment of this historical achievement and broke the monopoly of nuclear know-how by a few powerful countries. They also led Iran to attend the international scene as a mighty Islamic country." 

And on the anniversary of National Nuclear Technology Day, we remember the Iranian martyred scientists of nuclear technology. With dedication to the great souls of:  Dr. Masoud Alimohammadi, Dr. Majid Shahriyari, Darius Rezayinejad and the recent one, Mostafa Ahmadiroshan.

در واپسین روزهای سال هزار و سیصد و نود هجری شمسی نودمین پست بلاگم را به عنوان آخرین پست در سال نود منتشر می کنم. 

مقاله حاضر یادداشتی است از یک محقق و استاد مالزیایی که مدتی در ایران زندگی کرده است. وی دیدگاه های فردی خود را در محدوده ی علمی و تجربه ی شخصی اش به نگارش درآورده و من تنها ترجمه این مقاله را از زبان انگلیسی به فارسی انجام داده و هیچ جانب داری یا عدم جانبداری از نوشته پیش رو، نمی کنم.

اگر یک ایرانی بودم

هانا آردنت یک فیلسوف مشهور آلمانی است که در سال 1933 هنگامی که نازی ها قدرت را به دست گرفته بودند به پاریس و از آنجا نیز به نیویورک تبعید شد. تنها دلیلی که وی را مجبور به  رفتن کرد باری بود که یهودی بودن بر او تحمیل می کرد. البته دیدگاه شخصی او یهودیت یا یهودی بودن نبود. واقعا مساله یهودیت برای آردنت جوان بی اهمیت بود. هم زمان با این جریان در همان سال آردنت نامه ای به  استاد راهنمای خود کارل جاسپر نوشت وتاکیید کرد که "برای من آلمانی زبان مادری ام، فلسفه ام و شعرم است." و از آن پس این عبارت که ترکیبی از کلمات: زبان مادری- فلسفه- شعر است همواره در تمامی  شرایط توسط آردنت گفته می شد.

 من یک مالزیایی هستم. تنها دلیل من برای نقل داستان آردنت طرح این سوال است که "آیا افتخارات خاصی برای من، به عنوان یک مالزیایی وجود دارد؟! فکر نمی کنم! تنها این را بیان می کنم که برای من مالزیا (فقط) به معنای زبان مادریست و نه هیچ چیز دیگر. اگر من یک ایرانی بودم قطعا این سخن آردنت را به تمامی تکرار می کردم که: "برای من ایرانی بودن به معنای زبان مادری، فلسفه و شعر من است." مطمئن هستم که اگر یک ایرانی بودم به راحتی دو واژه ی دیگر، "فلسفه" و "شعر" را اضافه می کردم.

Hannah Arendt (1907-1976) was a widely known German philosopher. In 1933, when the Nazi took over power, she was expelled to Paris, then to New York. The single cause that led to her fleeing was because of the burden of being Jewish. Jewishness or being Jewish however was not her point of view. In fact, for young Arendt, the "Jewish Question" is boring. In line with that, in the same year, Arendt wrote a letter to her mentor, Karl Jaspers and boldly insisted: "For me, German is my mother tongue, philosophy and poetry." To the very end, the combination of mother tongue-philosophy-poetry was something she 'steadfastly' held in all circumstances.

من نمیدانم که آیا شما تا کنون این آیه از قرآن را درباره پیامبر خود وپیامبر ما حضرت عیسی علیهم السلام و مادر مقدسشان خوانده اید یا نه. ما مسلمانان به تمامی پیامبران [الهی] معتقد هستیم و برای همه آن ها احترام قایلیم. خداوند در قرآن کریم چیزهای بسیاری از ایشان  به ما آموخته است.

چند آیه از سوره مریم در قرآن  کریم:

Fasting in Ramazan is obligatory to fix your intuition                    

Daily prayer is obligatory to purify you from arrogance

Jihad (war to defend) is obligatory to add dignity to Islam

Nice behavior towards parents is obligatory to protect you from wrath

Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca) is obligatory to make the religion more powerful

Imamah (succession of Prophet Mohammad) is obligatory to save you from schism

Iranian calendar starts at the very beginning of spring which is equinox, the only time of the year on which the night is equal to the day. In Iranian Hejri Shamsi calendar, summer solstice is at the end of spring and the beginning of summer; Winter solstice is at the end of autumn and the very beginning of winter, this exactness is found in no other calendar around the world

Do good to your brother when he is bent upon doing harm to you 

When he ignores or declines to recognize the kinship, befriend him, go to his help and try to maintain relations

If he is miserly with you and refuses to help you, be generous with him and support him financially

If he is cruel with you, be kind and considerate with him. If he harms you accept his excuses

Behave with him as if he is a master and you are a slave, and he is a benefactor and you are a beneficiary

But be careful that you do not thus behave with undeserving and mean persons like this

اگر دوستت پيوند از تو گسست، پيوستن او را بر خود هموار سازد و چون از تو رخ برتافت تو به لطف پيوند روى آور و چون بخل ورزيد، تو دست بخشش بگشاى و چون دورى گزيد، تو نزديك شو و چون درشتى نمود، تو نرمى پيش آر و چون مرتكب خطايى شد، عذرش را بپذير، آن سان كه گويى تو بنده او هستى و او ولى نعمت تو.

Shias are living with the love towards Imam Hussain and Ahlulbayt(Prophet Mohammad’s family) but some of us remain in the mere mourning for them and do not go deep into Ahlulbayts’ words. Imam Hussain has a speech on Ahura day before his martyrdom from which I have chosen some parts here

Shia’s reasoning for Welayat (succession of Prophet Mohammad) are as follow:1

At the beginning of his prophecy, Prophet Mohammad introduced Ali as his successor and representative

On the other hand, Qadeer happened on the last Hajj of Prophet Mohammad 

Plus Qadeer Qum was a place at which the road of Arabia was separated from Iraq and Syria

When Prophet Mohammad asked the pilgrims, he first told them

“Aren’t I prior to you from yourselves?” people answered: “Yes, You are.” In the Quran Surah Ahzab, the sixth verse we read

Lady Fatima Zahra (PBUH) Says: “fasting in Ramzan is considered obligatory by God for fixing the genuineness of your intentions”1

Once Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said to a woman who was scorning her slave while fasting: “Break now your fast with some food” . The woman replied that she was fasting and Prophet Mohammad said: “how do you fast and scorn others? Fasting is not the mere prohibition from eating and drinking”.1

In the holly Qoran, some adjectives like Moflehin (prosperous people) and Faezin (the successful ones) are used for the people who achieve divine prosperity. Performing nammaz is amongst the behavioral traits of Mofelhin and Faezin, as we read in the Qoranic surahs:1

Those who humble themselves in their prayers; (Momenun 2)1

And those who keep a guard on their prayers (Momenun 9)1

And they are constant in guarding their prayers. (Anaam 92)1

Guard strictly your (habit of) prayers, especially the middle prayer. (Baqare 238)1

Those who are constant in prayer; (Maarej 23)1
